The kitchen has been open to community groups and individuals were they have been taught the art of bread making.
The sessions have proved so successful that the organisers are now planning a series of regular workshops. “The feedback we get is brilliant” says volunteer tutor “ many arrive with little or no experience of baking, by the end of the three hour session they have a loaf of bread which they have baked here, along with another loaf to take home and bake”.
With numbers limited to 9 each session, the Bakery Workshop’s have become popular not only for making bread but also as a social gathering. With plenty of time to make new friends over lunch, which is provided.
The cost of each workshop is £4 which includes lunch and all the ingredients for your bread.
The next workshop will be onTuesday 4th September from 12-3pm, at Brownley Green Church, Broadoak Road, M22 9WF, then held every two weeks until 27th November.
