St George’s festival and parade
England’s biggest St George’s Day celebration returns this weekend – so expect dragons, drama and plenty of entertainment.
The patron Saint of England will be honoured through a weekend of flamboyant events from midday Friday 20 April and will continue through until Sunday 22 April – with the annual St George’s Day Parade from 11.30am until 1.30pm on the Sunday.

Comic Relief Aims High in Wythenshawe
Staff and students from the Manchester College Wythenshawe Campus dressed up in fancy dress and braved the wind and the rain to abseil down their four-storey building to raise £5,000 for Comic Relief on Red Nose Day.
Fundraising for Comic Relief created a buzz around the Brownley Road campus as students worked to raise a minimum of £50 and staff to raise a minimum of £100 pounds in sponsorship....

The 2012 Christmas lights switch on was a great success with over 1000 people in attendance! WFM managed the stage with live artists entertaining the crowd with some amazing voices. Dough To Be Made
There is plenty of dough to be made at Brownley Green Village. It has recently been the venue for several very successful Baking Bread Workshop’s.
The kitchen has been open to community groups and individuals were they have been taught the art of bread making.
The sessions have proved so successful that the organisers are now planning a series of regular workshops. “The feedback we get is brilliant”...
200 Girls Experience Football At The Wythenshawe Games 2012
Tuesday 24th July saw The FA Girls’ Football Festival, supported by Continental Tyres, Sport England and UEFA visit the Wythenshawe Games, near Manchester.
