A Smoother Mix

A Smoother Mix is presented by Dennis Gerald.

Dennis Gerald hosts The Smoother MixThe duration of 'A Smoother Mix' is 2 hours, between 2 and 4pm every Saturday. The show has a portfolio of topics/strands which are drawn on from week to week, they include: Our version of Roy Plomley's Desert Island Disc, Poets Corner, Reggae Quarter and Comedy.

Phone-ins on a variety of topics are also part of the mix.
On tuning into the show, one can expect to hear a wide range of lyrically rich and often unusual music from across the globe.
The musical content and vibe is an intrinsic part of 'A Smoother Mix' and what contributes greatly to the success or otherwise of the programme.

Comedy: Our comedic interlude as one might imagine is a comedy segment
featuring comedy from a variety of sketches and comedians.

Desert Island Disc: My castaways on desert island disc are sometimes from the Wythenshawe area and sometimes not. But,where ever they're from they need to be interesting and have something to say. Celebrity or Regular Joe, it matters not.

Poets Corner: Features Poetry, Not always radical, but often 'thought provoking' including
studio appearances by some of the areas best wordsmiths and performance
artiste.

Reggae 1/4 aka MOCCO (Music Of Caribbean Origin):

For the reggae lovers, this is the best 15 (non-stop) minutes of Caribbean cuts and reggae riffs that you'll find anywhere on radio.
From John Holt to Nucleus Roots…from yesteryear and yesterday..it's all good and it's all here.

Phone-ins: I agitate and instigate interest and hopefully phone calls from the listener, sometimes in conjunction with a studio guest on a wide range of subjects and topics.
My first association with radio, was on Radio Wishing Well (North Trafford General Hospital) Somewhat different to WFM but nevertheless, invaluable
experience in terms of grounding.
Sometime ago I saw an advert for WFM in a local newspaper, I responded, trained to be a volunteer and I'm still here.
I have no hesitation in saying that: Between 2 and 4 on Saturdays are without doubt the best part of my week.
My hope is that listeners enjoy my show and the station generally, half as much as we the volunteers do. That would be a great result!
Thank you
Dennis Gerald
