Phil Edmonds
Phil
comes from Oldham and has been involved in various radio and
television projects.
Phil studied for a Television and Radio degree at The University
of Salford, following this with a Masters course in Television
Documentary production. Having hung around Salford Uni for
so long they employed him in their International Media Centre
where he was responsible for amongst other things a mobile
television production facility.
Phil then came to work with Wythenshawe FM in October 2002
when he took over the role of Technician at our parent company
Radio Regen. Phil splits his time between WFM, our sister
station ALL FM and the various other Radio Regen projects.
He has the unenviable task of ensuring that all our studios,
computers and technical equipment are kept working.
Phil has been involved in radio and television broadcasting
for over a decade. Phil's CV includes a broad range of professional
media, including Avid Editor for Manchester's City TV station
Channel M, other credits include work for Granada Television
and award winning documentary films. One of the more unusual
jobs Phil undertook was producing a music video broadcast
on the Russian equivalent of MTV.
Phil's radio work ranges from various roles at two dozen
short term special event RSL radio stations to BBC Radio 5
Live. Over the years he has been involved in many types if
radio - community radio, hospital radio and student radio,
including key roles in national award winning stations 'BT
Hospital Radio Station of the Year 2000' Radio Cavell and
the 'Radio One Student Radio Station of the Year 1998' Storm
FM.
Phil is also experienced in web design, having built his
first web site in 1997 and has developed various web sites
