Listed below are details of current What's On events being broadcast on Wythenshawe FM.
GMP COMMUNITY MEETINGS - All Wythenshawe residents are invited to
attend a community meeting arranged by Inspector Caroline Hemingway. The
first, between 6pm - 7.30pm on Thursday 29th July, will be held at the Benchill
Community Centre and the second on Monday 23rd August (again at 6pm -
7.30pm) at the Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre. This will be a chance to
discuss any concerns you may have with your Neighbourhood Policing Team.
BROOKLANDS TENANTS & RESIDENTS - 2nd year Summer Fair on Saturday
7th August 12pm - 4pm. Michelle Kegan from Coronation Street will be there to
open the event which will be held at Wendover Road on Sparkford Fields.
ALTRINCHAM FESTIVAL - Events taking place between July and September.

THE SEED FUND - Do you have an idea to help others in the community? Has
your group been established for less that 12 months? If so, the Community
Foundation for Greater Manchester has a new fund available with grants up to

SUMMER PLAYSCHEME at Benchill Community Centre. Ages 6-14 (donation
of 50p per day towards refreshments). The Playscheme is open 9.30am - 3pm
and places are available for 26th - 30th July, 2nd - 6th August and 9th - 13th
August. Bring a packed lunch and stay all day. First come, first served basis.

WFM is creating its first COMMUNITY RADIO NEWS & FEATURES TEAM. It's
an exciting project which will give you the chance to make your own radio
reports covering all parts of the community. So if you've ever fancied producing
and presenting your own radio pieces - then we can make it happen. Don't
worry if you haven't done anything like this before, we'll give you all the training
you need and you'll be working as part of a team. Interested? Then e-mail

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES with Barnardo's Sure Start in
Wythenshawe. New volunteers wanted to offer time and provide practical
support to parents and children in the community. If you are interested in joining

TESCO MOBILE SUMMER DAY.
On Saturday 31st July, Tesco Mobile will be hosting a "Summer Day", Free Of
Charge, in Wythenshawe Park from 10am to 4pm.
The outdoor event aims to bring friends and families together with some old
fashioned fun and games including giant board games like Draughts, Connect 4
& Jenga. Sports included are football, vollyball, short tennis and for the younger
ones, face painting and even Punch & Judy at 11am, 1pm & 3pm.
There will also be Circus Skills like Spinning Plates, Juggling & Stilt Walking.
All visitors will get the chance to win a New, Sleek LG Viewty GM360 Mobile

NEW BABY GROUP (0 - 12 months) - Every Friday 10am - 12pm at Sure Start
Woodhouse Park Children's Centre, Dinmoor Road. This Friday 30th July the
activity will be "Footprint Keepsakes" with Anne-Marie from Forum Library. Lots

MANCHESTER AIMING HIGH FUND.
A new small grants fund has been launched in partnership with Manchester City
Council, the Community Foundation and 4CT.
Voluntary, community and faith sector groups can apply for up to
£5000 to develop new or existing activities that provide short breaks for
children with disabilities.

FREE BRASS BAND CONCERT.
The Tame Valley Brass Ensemble will be performing in the Stable Courtyard,
Wythenshawe Park on Sunday 8th August between 1pm & 3pm. As we
mentioned, it's FREE, so get yourselves down there.
MAGIC GARDEN FAMILY DAY.
On Thursday 5th August in The Hall Gardens at Wythenshawe Park will play
host to Magicians, Storytelling, Bouncy Castle, Drumming, Treasure Trail &
Balloon Modelling. The kids can even have a go at some Arts & Crafts. The
event is open to children under 12 and their carers an runs from 1pm to 3pm.
THE UNITY RADIO BUS IS COMING TO WYTHENSHAWE.
Think you've got a talent for writing lyrics? Would you like to learn all about
Graffiti Design? This could be just the thing for you. On Friday 6th August,
between 7pm and 9pm, The Unity Radio Bus will be parking up at the Forum
with Live Dj & MC Sessions and they will be giving you the chance to get
involved in Lyric Writing & Graffiti Design.
FUN DAY at Tree of Life Centre Wythenshawe, Oatlands Road, Woodhouse
Park, Wythenshawe, Manchester M22 1AH. The event is on Friday 6th August
from 11.00am - 3.00pm - Tombola, Bouncy Castle, Face Painting,
