Would you like to be a radio presenter

Starts Thursday 29th September 5-9:15pm and then a 2 hour session each Thursday 7 till 9pmIMG_2567

Would you like to be a Radio Presenter, a producer, a news reporter or would just like to get involved, at WFM we can provide you with all the training you need.

We look at the technical side of radio production as well as teaching presenting skills. We use audio editing software and we will show you how to create your own promotional adverts. Don’t worry if you are not great on computers because we can help you with that too!

Don’t worry if you have little or no broadcasting experience, after the WFM 8 weeks radio training course you will be transformed into very competent community radio broadcasters.

The training course cost £100 but can be free for people on benefits dependent on funding at the station.

…………… at the end of the training you can volunteer at WFM and have your own radio show if slots are available in the schedule.

The course duration is 8 weeks and consists of:

Radio in a day – Come to the radio station for ½ a day and learn the basics of producing and presenting a radio show and as part of a team present a live or pre-recorded radio show at the end of the day.
1. Health and Safety.
2. Administration.
3. Introductions.
4. Understanding audiences and the radio industry.
5. What makes a radio show, running order and developing ideas.
6. Scripting your features.
7. Live / Pre-recorded radio show.

The next 7 weeks consist of 2 hour training sessions where you and your team will learn how to operate the radio desk, how to use myriad, learning the basics of editing with Adobe Audition, Ofcom rules and regulations, making a radio advert, phone interviews, rules and systems for volunteering at WFM.

    Hi I’m sending this on behalf of my son Kane he is already studying at access to music in Manchester and would love to get involved in the workings of it all.
    He is already familiar with the working on the recording part and the mixers decks.This would be his dream job if you have any vacancies he’s not afraid of hard work and he makes a mean cup of tea .

    I have wanted to do this for quite some time now, a have a wide knowledge of music my speciality is the 60’s and I have knowledge on artist and dated recorder . I think I could bring a lot o the radio station.
