A Light In The Winter

connection fest

Everyone is invited to take part in a special free festival during the month of December. It’s called Connection Fest and has been created by Manchester writer Ali Davenport as a way of bringing people together this winter.

Ali says: ‘We’ll be exploring connection and what it means to us, especially at the moment. You could do something with your neighbours, set up a Twitter or Zoom event, or share a poem or craft. You can also join in the growing programme of activities, like a singalong, laughter yoga and conversations about connection. This isn’t like a usual festival though. Rather than everything being planned in advanced, it’ll evolve as it goes along. I wanted it to fit in with where people are in their lives right now. Hopefully, it’ll be a positive and uplifting experience in these uncertain times – a light in the winter!’

Connection Fest has the support of the Camerados, a movement of people who believe in looking out for each other: ‘We love it when folk in the movement just make things happen and find ways to connect people to the Camerados principles. These can help when we go through tough times. At the end of the day, the answer to our problems is each other.’

Connection Fest runs for the whole month of December. To find out more, see www.soulsurvivalguide.co/connection-fest and www.camerados.org.  You can also connect with Ali on Twitter – Ali Davenport @soulsurvguide.
