Born and reared on Tyneside, attended college in Edinburgh, lived for a couple of years in the Cotswolds, then sixteen years in the Northumbrian mining town of Bedlington. Now a happily adopted Mancunian.
Career wise – all in the Catering & Institutional Management Sector. Worked in many Wythenshawe schools as a Peripatetic School Meals Supervisor and Trainer. Last job was as a Senior Lecturer, at what is now known as The Manchester College.
Interests: Wfm with all the spin offs, travel, light gardening, family history, aqua aerobics & swimming. Radio began with Manchester Hospital Radio in the 80’s, some free-lance broadcasting for BBC Radio 4 Womans Hour, reading for RNIB at their North West Transcription Centre in Tarporley; this could be any thing from text books for blind students to commercial work, such as bus time tables and washing machine instructions!!
None of the family live locally so Manchester makes a free bed and breakfast. At the last count of great grandchildren the result was 11… and counting.
