Tatton Park was host to The Passion for power classic motor show (22nd/23rd August 2015). Driving to the event I was wondering what I would lay ahead, after a trouble-free entry to the park and parking, I entered the show ground.
As you entered to the left a market style of stalls full of accessories for new and classic cars with specialist and general trade stands, to the right was enthusiasts showing their classics some had great stories of transformations made. One car which impression me was an Austin 12/4 Clifton which once sat in a barn somewhere in Leek rotting away until the new owner stripped the motor of all parts, sanded the bodywork and treated and repainted, rebuilt the engine new seats and now just needs a polish.
The must have been around 2,000 classic cars on show, with top class car club displays, it was like stepping back in time seeing classics like the Ford Capri, Mini, Triumphs, VW Campers (some of which I owned in my early driving days). If that wasn’t enough was the very popular Passion for Power Dream Cars pavilion, a large under cover display area for the finest high performance, competition and super cars!
The 1,000 + square metre pavilion was crammed full with the latest models from some of the world’s most exclusive car manufacturers including Rolls Royce, McLaren and Bentley. A dream visit for any motorist and if you had case to spare many where up for sale.
There were food outlets with entertainment nearby with children’s fun fair and park.
All in all a great day out for all the family and well planned event.
