Established in 2002 after the Manchester Commonwealth Games, and promoted by Sale Harriers, the four 5k runs for all abilities, was established with the aim of encouraging the people of Manchester to get fit and be healthier.

Race Organiser Fechin McCormick of Sale Harriers said: “It’s through events like these that we can ensure the legacy of the London 2012 Olympics lives on. Many Manchester people took part in the Gt. Manchester 10k or ran a “Race for Life” for charity but then there’s not much else left for them to take part in. These four evening runs give new runners the opportunity to get fitter and faster and be involved in sport.

“With the support of some of our greatest former Olympians I hope that the people of Manchester are inspired to take part and make again this year and make them the best yet. I encourage everyone to come along.”

The four runs are on Thursday evenings at 7.30 0n July 4th, July 18th, August 1st and August 15th. For more information and entry forms log onto or telephone organiser Fechin Mc Cormick on 0161 972 5715
