WFM 97.2’s Community Media Crew in the spotlight as BBC films in Wythenshawe

The Community Media Crew is a media organisation which gives its members the chance to broadcast on our very own WFM 97.2.

The group is also involved in film and director training projects and it’s even hoping to screen one of its latest films at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The Community Media Crew recently found itself in the spotlight as the work it does with a mixed-ability group of actors attracted the attention of the BBC and the Manchester Evening News.

Roz Johnson, who presents Out to Lunch on WFM 97.2 on Thursdays from 12 Noon-2pm, joined the ‘media circus’ which descended on St John’s Catholic Club in Benchill.

The BBC was there to film as Community Media Crew actors showcased their work in front of an audience of pupils from SS John Fisher and Thomas More Primary School. Even a former Coronation Street actor was there to add extra stardust to the event.

WFM’s Roz Johnson was there to capture the excitement of the performance and the unstoppable enthusiasm of everyone taking part.

You can share the magic by listening to our radio feature at the following times:
