WFM provides training opportunities for everyone in the community to get involved. We regularly hold training sessions on presentation, production, podcasting and audio production. If you're interested in taking part in this training, you can click here to check out our training page
Additionally, are currently on the lookout for people interested in the opportunities below.
Please note that all opportunities listed are voluntary, and you may be required to join training. These opportunities are carried out remotely, so you may be required to have a good sounding microphone if you're recording from home.
News Team
We're looking for enthusiastic people who can work off their own initiative to source, write and read news bulletins. Training may be given depending on experience.
Overnight and Cover Presenting
If you're looking for a new hobby or looking to gain some experience presenting radio shows, we have opportunities for presenters looking to host overnight shows. Whether you're a seasoned presenter or just starting out this might be down your street.
Training may be given depending on experience. This programming can either be produced live remotely, pre-recorded or voice-tracked
Occasionally we'll need someone to cover daytime shows. You'll be invited to present these at the studio but can be produced from home
Producers
We're looking for programme makers. This may include some presenting, but generally a producer will work with a presenter to make the broadcast quality better. This might be sourcing interviews, coming up with ideas and creating formats . It's not your standard "do some talking then play a song" - this is thought out content. If you're interested in making shows about art, culture, Podcasts, LGBTQ+, disability, local reporting, local music, comedy, drama, health, wellbeing and you're looking for something slightly more adventurous, give us a shout!
Tell us about yourself and your experiences and why you'd like to be involved
