After two trial periods, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, has heralded the permanent lifting of the early morning restriction to the concessionary bus pass in the city region. From 1st March 2026 over 65s and disabled people can now board the bus for free, even before 9.30am on weekdays. Marie Greenhalgh reports....
