BURN THE FLOOR PRESENTS NIKITA KUZMIN, SUPERNOVA. BRIDGEWATER HALL. MANCHESTER. 2026 UK TOUR -REVIEW BY TRÉTRÉ
The Bridgewater Hall was a sight to behold. What a venue. What an auditorium. As I walked into the main arena to take my seat, the stage design for NIKITA KUZMIN’S SUPERNOVA dance explosion was phenomenal. No expense had been spared. The laser lights were a perfect addition to the spectacle. There was a very talkative voice that accompanied Nikita on stage, embedded into the stage design itself, in the style of the AI voice assistant Alexa — but she was named Nova. This gave the show a humorous and unexpected twist, and the audience embraced it completely.
I’ve noticed at many theatre productions I attend that the use of video screens now seems to be the norm. It really does create the atmosphere needed for certain shows, and I like it. This dance frenzy had everything: every dance style, every genre of musical accompaniment, and the Strictly Come Dancing fever was in full force. Special guest stars Karen Hauer, Janette Manrara, and Nadiya Bychkova all brought their A‑game. The audience couldn’t get enough. Nikita certainly took advantage of this, interacting with his fans at every opportunity. I couldn’t quite work out if this was spontaneous or rehearsed — and that’s a sign of true professionalism. The costume design was very much in keeping with Strictly Come Dancing. Brilliant. During the second half of the show, Nikita and Karen actually picked two audience members to take part in a quiz. It was a wonderful surprise for loyal fans. Karen and Nikita hugged them like family, and I even got a little choked up. I was as surprised as you are now, reading this. Great storytelling throughout! I won't give too much away, but if you get a chance to go see this show, just GO! It's not just for fans of Strictly Come Dancing. The standing ovation from a five‑tiered theatre was a sight to behold. It was emotional. (There I go again.)This was an exceptional six stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.I’ve never given six stars before. Oh dear… what’s happening to me???
