WFM Presenter Celebrated in Radio Times

In this week's Radio Times (2-8 May 2026), Wythenshawe FM's Out To Lunch Presenter Roz Johnson tells David McGillivray about her life on and off air, how she gets adrenaline when things go wrong and that she likes nothing more than "sudden interviews". Also you can find out who her favourite broadcaster was and her secret skill!

Roz can be heard Monday and Thursday lunchtimes on WFM from 12-2pm.

When WFM presenter Ben Cooper told Roz he thought she would be a good candidate for the 'Face Behind The Voice' column given her interesting life and radio experience, and a radio friend had passed on the contact details of the journalist who puts the column together, Roz revealed her daughter had already written to Radio Times. Things moved fast, as soon as Ben had sent off the email, a Zoom meeting had been arranged with Roz.

Despite a few minor inaccuracies, it is a great article. Whether Roz is the oldest presenter on UK radio we may never know, but one thing is for sure this 94 year old Great Great Grandmother, won't just be playing the likes of Bing Crosby, as she says, but current stuff too, even on her Silver Seniors show, as "older people need to know what's going on in the world".
